Work experience and qualifications
Before starting his plastic surgery residency, he was granted a place at Harvard Medical School, Brigham & Women's Hospital, as an observer doctor under the supervision of Dr. Simon Talbot. He completed his medical specialty training in the Department of Plastic and Micro Surgery at BELMAPO (Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education) in 2021. During the last year of his residency, he worked in Dr. Dmitry Batiukov's Aesthetic Surgery Clinic in Minsk.
Following this, he worked at the University of California, Irvine, as a research fellow for a year under the supervision of Dr. Gregory R. D. Evans. During his research year, he was able to observe operations and attend lectures. After passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination steps successfully, he was granted the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certificate, which is valid in the United States and many other countries.
He finished his compulsory service in Van Education and Research Hospital as a plastic surgeon in 2023.
Dr. K. Berat Oyur speaks English and Russian fluently, and can communicate sufficiently in German. His native languages are Turkish and Kurdish.
